Up and down in Paris: Street Style from Spring 2017 Haute Couture
Haute Couture week in Paris is a moment, twice a year, when creativity and sophistication are visible up and down the catwalks. Every edition is a colourful spectacle that gather together all the leading members of the fashion system. On the runways we saw dreamy Spring 2017 collections, yes, like we imagine it is supposed to be, but something is slightly changing in the intentions and in the creations of the couturiers. It is getting harder to make, or just to think of, Haute Couture since the world we live in is struggling with so many threats and so the designers have chosen a more down-to-earth approach. We spotted this mood even outside the fashion shows where bloggers, editors and buyers have adopted more relaxed, but still sleek, pieces from rtw and hc runways. The “We should all be feminists” T-shirt, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri for her debut collection at Christian Dior, was probably the most spotted piece, a t-shirt that is a real statement in terms of equal rights.
