It is a great year for Raf Simons.
The Belgian designer left the creative direction at Christian Dior in 2015, keeping to work on his eponymous brand. On August 2016 Calvin Klein annouced the appointment of Raf Simons as Chief Creative Officer of the American brand and on February 2017 Simons presented his first menswear/womenswear collection.
The designer killed two birds with one stone and decided to present both collections in New York and to celebrate American culture with his garments.
New York Men’s Fashion Week hosted Raf Simons FW17 collection on January, a collection dedicated to New York that used iconic symbols like a decontructed version of Milton Glaser’s “I Heart New York” logo.
