The Spring/Summer 2025 collection is an ode to joy

His name is not new among the brands that have been presenting their collections at Fortezza da Basso for several seasons. But with the latest edition of Pitti 106, Pierre-Louis Mascia has marked a happy turning point in his career by debuting on the catwalk with his first show for the Spring-Summer 2025 season.

Entitled Le Cavalier Bleu, the collection is a clear reference to the Blue Rider group – a German expressionist movement of the early 20th century – whose rebellious spirit and joyful inner subjectivity became Mascia’s source of inspiration for his work through vibrant use of color and prints.
It is precisely this lyrical perception of life and artistic expression that emerges in the entire format of the fashion show, as some dancers opened it with a dance performance conceived by choreographer Pierre Rigal, and a performance by singer Mélanie Chartreux.
Not even the clothing pieces escape the esprit libre that permeates the brand’s character: an unpredictable fashion is the result, made up of an unexpected interweaving of cultures.

The urban tailored pieces become slightly oversized, airy and renewed by a burst of oriental prints, the true players of the collection as well as the strength of the fashion house – which is now part of the Achille Pinto silk print company in Como along with the Uliassi brothers.
Floral patterns taken from ancient herbariums predominate on shirts, bucolic representations of flowers and birds spring up on quilted bomber jackets. Silk and cotton caftans that originate from t-shirts, and long shirtdresses for him – reminiscent of the sari – worn over pants, are both clear references to the Orient from which the French designer draws fully by looking at the work of Yves Saint Laurent, as are the flowing silk draped skirts.
The pockets and linings in contrasting fabrics seem to have been stolen from other garments of the collection, while the precious shawls adorned with beads and fringes taste of ancient and faraway lands.

“Le Cavalier Bleu” sounds like a new, joyful beginning, paying homage to individual freedom and life through artistic expression that encompasses everything, including fashion. As long as the common thread is preserved: joy.
