NEIL BARRETT BETWEEN CLASSIC AND MODERN
Neil Barrett presents his latest collection in a location that itself symbolises his particular style. Three naves, topped with headlights, but equally illuminated by a skylight which makes the airy atmosphere: white walls and Ionic colonnade front and backstage. Even Neil Barrett style synthesizes classic and modern: he, passionate tailor, reinvents the clean lines, suitable to his young models (often newfaces). Among these young people, there are valid interpreters as Christopher Paskowki, Tre Samuels and Erin Mommsen, but without forgetting proposals for the Asian market (a great admirer of Barrett), perfectly embodied here by the appreciated mannequin Sangwoo Kim.
The designer was accused of a certain classicism, and this collection features redundancy. But it is also true that the colours are measured taking into account the palette that vivifies ocher, beige, the saffron, as opposed to blue ranges. Casual but trendy, with that personal touch given by the hand bag or from the smoked sunglasses; elegant yet sporty, more suitable for playing in a golf club or a trip on a sailing boat than to competitive sports. The fashion of Neil Barrett keeps man fit lines, never expires becoming androgynous, retains its sartorial nature, but with spikes of youth and freshness. Not surprisingly, the association of jeans-and-T-shirt is a recurring topic, but always visible remains nothing less than the unquestionable high quality.
