Galliano surprised us with an ultra femme and muted colour palette on the SS 17 runway. We witnessed an urban elegance and sort of a 50s feel, with soft draped fabrics. And some models wore an animal mask on the side of their heads, similar to ones Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s during their attempt to steal from a store. It was unlike anything expected during the rise of another retro era, although the trending frills were prominent through the collection. Was it a jaw dropping collection? Absolutely not. But elegance isn’t about being noticed, it is about being remembered and these garments will do that for you.
