Beautiful People – Fall/Winter 2018/19
Focus on Knitwear pieces from the RTW catwalks
More and more labels are setting their sights on the knitwear field in their brand-extension approach: mostly conceived with big soft yarns, creating wide wrapping and comfortable volumes, the knits are the protagonists of the wintery season.
Beautiful People proposes bold ribbed knitwear pieces such as turtleneck dresses, alongside multicoloured yarns used for sweaters and scarves.
Rétro-styled vests and cardigans with geometrical motifs are back on the catwalks. (Gucci and A.P.C. are only a few names)
Alexander McQueen‘s knitwear structures are conceived in order to convey the idea of a butterfly metamorphosis.
All-over Aran and cable-stitches are applied on longline outfits in Laura Biagiotti, Faustine Steinmetz and Trussardi; zippers create sudden cut-outs on soft airy volumes in Gauchère.
Yarns are widely mixed with paillettes, embroideries, fringes and fur inserts in Antonio Marras, Ermanno Scervino, Stella Jean, Sally La Pointe.
Instead, patchworks are assembled through visible stitches that create a raw effect in Marni and Fyodor Golan.
