Ganni: a grown-up elegance
Undoubtedly the most noticeable Danish brand that broke out of Copenhagen, Ganni is gaining more and more ground as a global business with every Fashion Week passing. Its imprint though is not exactly what people mean by Scandinavian minimalism, for its distinctive colourful prints that captivated the attention of women and girls from all over the world.
The Fall 2019 collection felt designed for a nomadic wanderer, inhabitant of the world. Reffstrup moved away from the floral prairie prints to achieve a more abstract result. The playfulness for which Ganni has been known so far leaves room to a more mature aesthetics, like a grown-up girl that just acquired more awareness: there’s something in the silky dresses, the wrapping kimono-like volumes and the mao collars that confers the entire look an oriental touch, for a more delicate elegance. Contrasting with it, puffed outerwear clothing and daring leather pieces, often declined into ladylook twin-sets, confer the woman a bolder attitude.
Blanche, towards real life
Founded in 2017 by Mette Fredin and Melissa Bech, Blanche is a fashion label for women, created by women. It was launched as a sustainable denim brand with “substance, quality and fit” as its founding elements, in order to create timeless clothing for everyday life starting from surplus and recycled fabrics.
The women Fredin addresses to are ordinary, real women, from different longitudes and with different body sizes.
The Fall 2019 collection‘s aesthetic looks simple and comfortable, yet without losing sight of femininity.
Cecilie Bahnsen: into the age of innocence
Cecilie Bahnsen is a Copenhagen-based luxury clothing brand. Drawing on a rich culture of design, its aesthetic is composed by voluminous shapes constructed with a contemporary approach on couture traditional techniques. Detailing and fabrics compositions are accurately designed in order to achieve a timeless quality.
The Fall 2019 collection is a jubilation of bell silhouettes and balloon sleeves: they confer a slightly naive attitude, suggesting an innocent, romantic girlish elegance through black and white hues, spaced out by delicate yellow floral appliqués.
