Louis Vuitton and the Japanese iconography: Cruise 2018‘s accessories between West and Far East
Nicolas Ghesquière and the European fashion culture meets the Japanese one on the Cruise 2018 runway. The collection, presented at the Miho Museum, two hours by car from Kyoto, is the perfect combination of something contemporary and in-fashion and something timeless and fully embodied by the spirit and the mood of a foreign culture, far from the Western one. Japan was the starting point, with its iconography, with its symbols and respect for the nature.
Artistic, poetically creative and futuristic.
The new accessories are beautifully designed grabbing inspiration from the local theatrical culture. Alongside the well known LV monogram we spotted on the bags Kabuki-inspired decorations. The edgy high heel boots have Japanese decorative natural elements.
