Louis Vuitton at the Miho Museum, Kyoto, to show the new Cruise 2018 collection
Poetically futuristic.
In a harmonious environment, between modernity and nature, the Miho Museum outside Kyoto, Louis Vuitton presents the new Cruise 2018 collection. Nicolas Guesquière found inspiration in the combination of urban and respect for the nature to design the outstanding garments and to build up a poetical show with the sun going down creating a daydreaming atmosphere.
The collection was also inspired by the work of Kansai Yamamoto, legendary Japanese designer, well known for the bizarre costumes usually worn by David Bowie during his concerts.
Cerimonial dress, samurai uniforms and armours have been re-interpreted according to Guesquière’s vision and the aesthetic of the maison and, respecting the tradition of the host country and its symbolism, they have been turned into futuristic and delicate garments.
