Kaleidoscopic Gucci Fall 2017 collection at Milan Fashion Week
As announced by Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci, the Fall 2017 collection presented on the first day of Milan Fashion Week saw womenswear and menswear unified on the same runway, a strategic choice that, according to Alessandro Michele, brand’s creative director, is something that came naturally to him.
The models walked a long runway with glassy walls that separeted the audience from the creations, presented with a multicoloured and illusionistic light show. A gigantic pyramid arose for the middle of the catwalk recalling the setting for a cruise on the Nile river while the models recalled the characters from “Death on the Nile”, in particular the eccentricity of Angela Lansbury/Salome Otterbourne.
Alessandro Michele was thinking of an aesthetic and taste coming from the beginning of the last century: chinoiserie, fringed parasol, a kaleidoscopic colour palette.
