080 Barcelona Fashion 2017: January 30-February 3
The Teatro Nacional de Catalunya hosted from January 31 to Febriary 3 the 080 Barcelona Fashion 2017. Starting from this year the event introduced the “see-now-buy-now” strategy and we saw both Fall 2017 and Spring 2017 collections.
Here are some of the highlights from the fashion week.
Antonio Miro named his Fall 2017 collection “Origins”. It is a meditation on technology or the lack of it: the designer proposed as example the Amish community, people who live their lives without electricity or other commodities. The collection, grabbing some features and elements from the Amish dress code like the white or black bonnets, is a excuse to talk about modern society, artisanal/traditional work and craftsmanship.
From modesty to sex. The starting point for Anel Yaos is a bite, as practice to reach sexual arousal, and his Fall 2017 collection show all the declinations of that. All over the garments we saw blue, red, yellow tones like the colours of a bruise or a wound. The asymmetrical designs and the bizarre styling recalled sexual role games.
The collaboration between Krizia Robustella and the illustrator Marcos Cabrera gave birth to the Fall 2017 collection designed by the Spanish fashion designer. The atmosphere is creepy but extremely colourful and playful, nothing to worry about.
“Winter Fairytail” is the name of the Fall 2017 collection by Lola Casademunt. A fairytail made of luxurious velvet, lace, studded fabrics. Flowery mini dresses for a hippy-chic touch.
Aldomartins‘s idea for the next Fall is a collection inspired by country and folklore. The knitwear is the protagonist of the collection, with beautiful embroideries and colourful textures.
Custo Barcelona presented a Spring-Summer 2017 collection that was created starting from the concept of abundance. Rich fabrics, very elaborated pieces, innovative cuts. There is a lot in this collection, a lot of everything, from graphic prints to luxurious embroideries.
