“Legend” : Guo Pei Spring 2017 Haute Couture

Guo Pei, Chinese fashion designer, famous for her majestic, embroidered and sophisticated gowns, has presented her Haute Couture collection (named “Legend”) at Conciergerie in Paris, a royal palace (until the XIV century) and then a prison during the French Revolution. The designer chose this location to show a Spring 2017 that was about power. More costumes than dresses, but that is what Haute Couture is about: excess, everlansting elegance and craftmanship. Crowns and crosses to symbolize the temporal and the spiritual powers, golden details, Medieval Carolingian-art-inspired jewellery.

85-year-old legendary model Carmen Dell’Orefice closed the show in a magnificent red gown.
