Balenciaga reconsiders office-wear: Fall 2017 at Paris Men’s Fashion Week
On the first day of Paris Men’s Fashion Week Demna Gvasalia presented his second Balenciaga menswear collection as creative director of the brand. The designer picked up where he had left off last season and he designed a Fall 2017 that is rigorous and elegant. The garments recalled a formal job meeting basic uniforms, sue and tie, but contaminated by Demna’s aesthetic and reshaped. We saw big volumes but the silhouette of the shoulders went tighter.
Models of different generations walk the catwalk with glittered belts and open shirts. Grey, black and brown suits. The designer used Balenciaga and Kering logos on the garments and introduced a new male sneaker: the Triple-S.
Demna presented also a series of fake paper bags made out of leather, clutches and backpacks.
Shell bomber jackets and lucid raincoats.
