The Prabal Gurung wardrobe for the empowered woman

Gurung’s latest collection brings a gentle, graceful spirit to a troubled world. Perhaps Gloria Steinem’s spirit, his muse for the collection. When the Nepalese designer announced his collection was a depiction of “modern feminism”, what he really meant was feminism can undoubtedly be delicate and decent, firm nonetheless. There was a lightness to the fabrics, softness in the colours, airy feel in the prints and textures. The subtle use of feathers may have something to do with this airiness. There was movement. And we a saw a slip dress covered in fine script and graphic flowers, what I later learnt were “famous speeches by prominent women”.
