At Christian Dior Haute Couture‘s Spring 2020 show in Paris

La Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode is ready to host the first-ever virtual Couture fashion week. It will take place from July 6 to 8 in Paris, the three-day event will use the platform hautecouture.fhcm.paris/fr.html to showcase videos and entirely digital contents by the Couture houses.
The platform will gain momentum at 10 a.m. CET (Paris), with Schiaparelli in the schedule to start the dance – the French Maison led by Daniel Roseberry, who has become the modern interpreter of Elsa’s surrealist aesthetic legacy. The house of 21 Place Vendôme will not showcase new collection pieces, but a video centered on the skilled creative director and the maison’s savoir-faire and its otherworldly fashion details.
To follow, some other big names the caliber of Iris Van Herpen, Christian Dior, Ralph&Russo and Giambattista Valli will fill the first day of Paris Couture Week’s schedule, up until Georges Hobeika‘s show at h.20.30.
Particularly, Iris Van Herpen‘s show is arising much curiosity, as the Dutch designer has made of futurism and technological tools her masterpiece; small wonder then that the digital format of the fashion week will not hinder the well-known spectacular effects on her newest Couture pieces, which will be “reflecting the nature of perception“, as she describes them via Instagram.
The second day, alongside Stéphane Rolland and Alexandre Vauthier, there will be room also for young names such as the Japanese Yuima Nakazato, who combines advanced technology and craftsmanship in his couture creations, and the sustainable AELIS Couture and Ronald Van Der Kemp.
Chanel will showcase its Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2020-2021 collection at 12.00 on chanel.com and on all the brand’s social media: the filmmaker Loïc Prigent will especially turn his camera’s focus on Chanel’s “petites mains” working on the last details of the beautiful creations by Virginie Viard.
The Fashion Week will finally end in style with Maison Margiela, Elie Saab, Viktor&Rolf, Valentino in collaboration with Nick Knight, among other brands; yet it will not be the end of the fashion season: just the hors d’oeuvre which will be immediately followed by Men’s Paris Fashion Week (July 9-13) and Milan Digital Week (July 14-17).
