The Fall 2018 collection as a mix of grace and protection
A collection for women designed by a woman: strong and sweet at the same time, the design process is drawn by the everyday real needs of a contemporary woman.
“It was big cast, with clothes that a woman needs from the morning until the evening – all the time”, Roksanda Ilincic said of her collection. “I think I am a designer who always cares about women and how to dress them. I want to protect her and shelter her.”
Protective daywear garments are indeed a recurring feature of the collection, that are part of a dystopian urban vision; it is expressed through puffed coats and scarves knotted at the neck.
There’s a wide range of evening outfits as well: silky fluid dresses, with surreal, sinuous drawings by the artist and dancer Caroline Denervaud, alongside blouses and wide A-line dresses and skirts. The Serbian designer likes playing with the paneling and pleating, that contribute in giving fluidity and volume to the garments.
