Contemporaneity as a multicultural twist
An exciting trip around the world is narrated by Diesel Black Gold FW18 collection. Andreas Melbostad interprets contemporaneity as a bind of multicultural backgrounds, collected into a lineup that combines urban style with tribal influences. Inclusion and aggregation are the aims of the men and women collection, which saw different ethnicities elements walking down the catwalk.
Men’s clothing fit takes inspiration from tunics and baja Peruvian sweaters. Artisanal Navajo patterns are disseminated on shirts, sweaters and jackets; the staples of the brand as leather jackets, bombers and denim trousers are embellished with Native American decors and fringes.
Women’s silhouette is rooted in Romanian peasant blouses and dresses, here converted into smocked dresses embellished with embroideries, paisley prints and ikat jacquards.
Shearling jackets and Mongolian coats are realized with different fabric patchworks, while denim trousers’ flare silhouette is referring to Afghan styles and decorated with Syrian-inspired embroideries.
