Enter the dark world of Walter Van Beirendonck: Fall 2017 at Paris Men’s Fashion Week
Walter Van Beirendonck among the members of the Antwerp Six has always been the most colourful and playful of all. At the same time the message behind his collections, their mood and the way they were shown have made him the darkest. Everytime he touches a different chord of our soul and he shocks the audience with his fashion shows. For this Fall 2017 collection, presented during Paris Men’s Fsshion Week, he wanted to recreate a pagan rite where horned beasts played distrurbing drums. The title of the collection, Zwart, is a old Dutch term that has a Proto-Indo-European root meaning “dirty”, “black”,” dark”. And so it was. The models walked the catwalk wearing long oversized gloves, twisting the reality and personifying sinister creatures.
