Fantasy and Reality melted together

Known as one of the most innovative designer to watch during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Juun.J has a decidedly modern approach to design. His masterly knowledge in classic tailoring drives him to experiment and break predicted concepts, in order to create new silhouettes.

The talented South Korean designer’s FW18 collection is about an overlapping mix of fantasy and reality; an idea translated into a fashion made of volumes that are layered and twisted over each other.

Puffers are tied off around the body, creating architectural and self-protective volumes.

Checked and pinstriped fabrics – usually used in classic tailoring – are here knotted and twisting together in unexpected and abstract shapes.

Knitwear garments such as trousers and sweaters are made of giant cable stitching and designed in oversized proportions.

Visual contrasts are strong in chromatic turnovers, alongside an abrupt alternation of delicate plissé skirts and heavy outerwear garments.
