When Rothko meets Pamella Roland: Fall 2017 at New York Fashion Week

The colours of Mark Rothko’s paintings, their strength and their diverse combinations have been the starting point for Pamella Roland in designing her Fall 2017 collection on the catwalk of New York Fashion Week. The American painter used to support the freedom of the artist in the process of creating and so does Pamella Roland: she affirmed that the use of those colours and references was something impulsive, without all the political implications that were part of Rothko’s work.

Velvet dresses, feather and furry hems and collars and a provocative use of the colour palette.
