“Built from scratch”: Nicholas K Fall 2017 at New York Fashion Week

Nicholas and Christopher Kunz opened the New York Fashion Week, as is tradition. Their brand Nicholas K, founded in 2003, has a nomadic soul and it is based on movement, exploration and sharing. Plus there is a certain political, and so cultural, purpose in what they do and this is clear in the Fall 2017 collection which is a response to the time of stress we are witnessing and we are living right now. There are no camo stamps on the garments but they’re not necessary: the collection is a glam, urbanan and assertive declination of the concept of uniform ifself with its gold trenchcoats, high boots and wrap dresses. Everywhere 90’s hip-hop vibes, out from the loudspeakers to fill the room and on the catwalk as inspiration for the designs.
