Two Italian brands on the Milanese catwalk

The Bvlgari jewels are sparkling on the Emilio Pucci catwalk. For Fall/Winter 2018, both the Italian fashion houses are hinting at American reminiscences: the former, from the 70’s and their bold and exuberant colours, the decade when the Bvlgari jewels reached the American ground with its first boutique. The latter refers to Marilyn Monroe and spices its collection with a 50’s allure.

Back on the fashion runways after a season break, the brand of kaleidoscope-print luxury wear is trying to restore itself after the creative director Massimo Giorgetti left the direction: the house’s archive acquires a fundamental part as an inspirational source, and fortunately it boasts almost 70 years of history.

The Emilio Pucci pillars (curlicue and colourful prints, swimwear and caftans) are then drawn from the past and proposed in their peculiar vibrant chromatisms, then matched with 50’s lingerie pieces and bell-skirts. The prints are also embellished with paillettes and applied on quilted puffer garments, as coats, jackets and skirts.
